The artist states, “We followed Kandinsky’s painting biography. His brushwork style of motives. His spiritual background. Simply everything Kandinsky tried to be. Kandinsky’s paintings of Murnau in Germany was the transition to abstract art which the students recreated using his brush style and choice of colours and design. I began with a small village and extended the motives to fields and the river without any conscious aim. The motives were repainted many times, but the inspiration always came from the Murnau motives.” This iterative process, building layer upon layer of color, contributes to the painting’s depth and rich texture. While the initial inspiration is rooted in a specific location and artistic lineage, the final result transcends representation, offering a subjective and emotional experience of a landscape, real or imagined.`

Der Künstler erklärt: “Wir folgten Kandinskys Malbiographie. Seinem Pinselstrichstil der Motive. Seinem spirituellen Hintergrund. Einfach allem, was Kandinsky zu sein versuchte. Kandinskys Gemälde von Murnau in Deutschland waren der Übergang zur abstrakten Kunst, den die Studenten mit seinem Pinselstil und seiner Wahl von Farben und Design nachbildeten. Ich begann mit einem kleinen Dorf und erweiterte die Motive auf Felder und den Fluss ohne bewusstes Ziel. Die Motive wurden viele Male übermalt, aber die Inspiration kam immer von den Murnauer Motiven.” Dieser iterative Prozess, bei dem Farbschicht auf Farbschicht aufgetragen wird, trägt zur Tiefe und reichen Textur des Gemäldes bei. Während die anfängliche Inspiration in einem bestimmten Ort und einer künstlerischen Linie verwurzelt ist, transzendiert das Endergebnis die Darstellung und bietet eine subjektive und emotionale Erfahrung einer Landschaft, sei sie real oder imaginär.`
