#68 Poppy Flowers

This picture of two poppies with a blue flower in the background was painted with bold and courageous strokes. Inspired by Emil Nolde, I painted and drew simultaneously, using very simple shapes and fast, dynamic strokes. The overall impression was not meant to be beautiful, pretty, or detailed. Instead, I aimed to capture something raw and primal, as if the energy behind the flowers could be felt through the strokes.

Dieses Bild von zwei Mohnblumen mit einer blauen Blume im Hintergrund wurde mit mutigen und kühnen Strichen gemalt. Inspiriert von Emil Nolde malte und zeichnete ich gleichzeitig und verwendete sehr einfache Formen und schnelle, dynamische Striche. Der Gesamteindruck sollte nicht schön, hübsch oder detailliert sein. Stattdessen wollte ich etwas Rohes und Ursprüngliches einfangen, als ob man die Energie hinter den Blumen durch die Striche fühlen könnte.
